Russian State University for the Humanities created 10 years ago is the unique one in Russia. The University includes the Faculties on all the branches of humanities (history, philology, art, legal, social anthropology, etc.,) as well as scientific institutions and scientific centers.

Golenischev Egyptological Center is created in the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) with the assistance of the Egyptian Embassy in the Russian Federation in regard the necessity of the education high level specialists in ancient Egyptian History, language and art, basing on the best traditions of the Russian school of Egyptology.
The program of scientific and educational work of the Center is advanced for the first time and has no analogies among other programs of Russian high educational institutions.
The Center’s activity will be focused in two directions: scientific and educational.
The scientific work is concerned the publishing activity, the elaboration and the realization of the egyptological specialization program of training students and postgraduates, conducting the field work on the base of the Russian archaeological mission in Giza, advancing the projects of the other archaeological and epigraphical missions in Egypt.
The scientific program of the Center includes:
1. Monographs elucidating the themes of the proposed disciplines: « Practical Grammar of the Classical Egyptian Language », « Spiritual Culture of Ancient Egypt », « Ancient Egyptian Literature and Mythology », « Ancient Egyptian Art », « Temples and Tombs in Ancient Egypt », « Egyptian Religion and Christianity », « Contacts of the Nile valley Civilizations with the surrounded world », etc.
2. RSUH’s students and teachers participation in the field work of the Russian archaeological expédition in Giza and in preparation of the obtained materials for publication and computerization.
3. RSUH’s students participation in the project of publication of the Meroitic offering tables from the Cairo Museum (Director of the project Eleonora Kormysheva).
4. Establishing contacts with the Universities in Egypt in order to advance joint projects in the field work and museology, organizing the joint exhibitions and Conferences on Egyptology, interchange of professors and students, databases creation.
5. Publishing the annual revue « Civilizations of the Nile Valley » with the contributions of the egyptologists from different countries.
6. Creation the audio- and visual programs to prepare descriptive materials in ancient Egyptian art, writing scripts for documentary and educational films on Ancient Egypt.
7. Development of beneficial cooperation with the well-known museums of different countries (having Egyptian collections) with the aim of organization of the joint publication projects.

The educational work of the Center will be connected with realization of proposed 5-years program of specialization.
For perfecting the educational program the contacts with the famous European educational centers are welcomed with the aim of training students and professors’interchange.
Special program for Museology is advanced regarding to the specifies of work with the different kinds of Egyptian objects in Museums, the catalogue of the museum items based on the main points advanced by the Egyptological section of ICOM, as well as the conservation and restoration of the monuments.
